Everyone who visits Templeton school is impressed by the atmosphere of friendliness and co-operation, apparent as soon as you come through the front door.
Our Mission Statement ‘Live Well, Laugh Together, Learn Forever’ reflects the joy of lifelong learning, the cornerstone of Templeton CP School. At Templeton School we believe that every child is special and each has numerous talents and joys to share with others.
Templeton School caters for children from the ages of four to eleven years old. It is located on the outskirts of the small village of Templeton situate between Narberth and Kilgetty, in a rural location surrounded by local housing and farmland. It was built in 1877 to cater for the needs of the village and outlying regions and underwent a complete refurbishment of buildings in 2000 when five new classrooms were constructed.
The indoor learning environment – Our school has a wonderful learning environment. The classrooms are modern, spacious and well designed. Each classroom has an outdoor canopy areas allowing the children to work outdoors in all weathers.
The classrooms are very well resourced with up-to-date IT equipment including interactive smartboards, networked PCs, numerous laptops, iPads and Chrome Books.
The school hall is large and is used for physical education and dance activities, and is complete with a stage area for drama activities and concerts. There is a well-equipped kitchen which prepares fresh meals daily. The school corridors are spacious and attractively displayed leading to the regularly used school library.
The outdoor learning environment – Templeton school is set in stunning grounds. There is a large school field with an all weather running/walking track and a conservation area complete with school pond and numerous wildlife habitats, providing high quality outdoor learning facilities.
Our outdoor resources include; an adventure playground and ‘imagination’ play area, a traverse climbing wall and monkey bars, a range of trim trail equipment and a newly built outdoor classroom providing a wonderful outdoor learning facility. We have a poly tunnel, regularly used for growing vegetables a fruit tree orchard and long grass areas and trees to attract wildlife.
Facilities for sports are excellent; the all-weather track is used by our cross-country team and for every child in the school to complete the ‘daily mile’ as part of our health and wellbeing work. We have sports pitches for rugby, football and netball and an athletics track on the school field for sports day. During the summer, the school playing field is also used by children for recreational activities.
We have such a wonderful school environment that we often host visits from other schools as an example of best practice, this helps to give them ideas and supports them in developing their school grounds in a similar way.
Templeton School runs an ‘Asymmetric School’ week.
