Templeton School enjoys a happy, safe, friendly, family ethos where mutual respect exists at all levels, staff to staff, children to staff and staff to children.
We are very proud of the standards of behaviour at Templeton School. Visitors often comment about the courtesy, helpfulness and general good behaviour of our children. The same can be said whenever our pupils attend school trips, sports matches etc.
The school has adoptive the principles of ‘Restorative Practice’ in promoting high standards of behaviour. Incidences of inappropriate behaviour are dealt with following the principles of ‘Restorative Practice, with the aim of the perpetrator repairing the harm done to the victim.
The establishment of an appropriate ethos is an essential prerequisite for learning. It depends upon trusting relationships and process of co-operative teamwork and the school welcomes and encourages the involvement of LA, governors, parents and others in the community.
Children of all ages are encouraged to behave sensibly and older children are encouraged to adopt a caring attitude towards younger ones. Particular emphasis should be placed on good manners, orderly movement about the school, taking care of our school environment and caring for others. The school seeks to promote self-discipline, proper regard for authority and respect for others.
Our school ‘Behaviour Policy’ gives guidance to school staff and how to consistently promote positive behaviour across the school.
Templeton School runs an ‘Asymmetric School’ week.
